The children of Henry Shaw and Earl West would form a union. They would bring together two deep-rooted Washington State families and two powerful  regions in Washington State, Red Mountain and Walla Walla.
In 2014, Dick Shaw and Wendy West  Shaw brought their love of Washington wines to the heart of downtown Walla Walla by purchasing the historic 1879 Kennedy Building and opening their first winery, Henry Earl Estates. The Shaws created Henry Earl to commemorate the lives of their fathers. Henry Shaw and Earl West, as well as highlight their estate grown vineyards.

After just four years of production, Henry Earl has already gained notoriety for producing bold red wines that highlight the unique qualities of Red Mountain. Our flagship wine, the Homesteader, a rich Red Mountain Bordeaux-style blend continues to receive great scores each year, beginning with the 2010 vintage. Many of our wines have been rated excellent or outstanding by Great Northwest Wine including, the 2016 Red Mountain Sauvignon Blanc, the 2016 Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc, and the 2015 Shaw Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon.

Henry Earl's new 1st & Main label has also become a favorite of our tasting room guests and wine club members, and honors the location of the Kennedy Building, which is located at the cross-section of 1st Street and Main Street in Downtown Walla Walla.
